Island Tour to the South
The Island Tour - St. Lucia has a wealth of sightseeing and shopping opportunities begins
at your cruise ship in the capital of Castries. In the capital you will see the remnants of French and European influences of the colonial times and other historical sites. Travel through Walcott Square and see a monument to St. Lucia's War dead. Near the square there is a large Samaan Tree, commonly known as the "Massav" tree which is over 400 years old. Also, on the eastern end of Walcott Square see the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. We will then go to Morne Fortune (formerly called Le Carenage) and stop at Victory Monument where you will have spectacular views of the city and the northern portion of the island. Once on board we will travel southward past the 19th Century Governor's House, Roseau Valley (banana plantation), Marigot Bay (site where the original 1966 "Dr. Doolittle" movie was filmed) and the three fishing villages of Anse La Raye, Canaries, and Soufriere. Along the way you will travel through a portion of the rainforest - Edmund Forest Reserve and then an optional stop at Plaz Kassav for taste of traditional cassava bread. From here you will stop at a local craft market where you will see the Majestic Pitons in the distance. Once in Soufriere (the 2nd largest town and 1st capital of St. Lucia) you will see the World Heritage Site....the Pitons- Gros and Petit up close. We will then go to the Sulphur Springs, the only drive in volcano and Torialle Waterfalls /Gardens to experience the local flora and fauna. Again, anything from the above can be eliminated according to your interests.
"The duration of the island tour is 4 - 6 hours". You can stop for lunch at your own expense before heading back to the ship or resort. All of this...is included in your day in paradise.

Island Tour The Island Tour includes entrance fees to the drive in Volcano and Torialle Waterfall/Botanical Gardens. The Island Tour includes some local snacks - Hot Bread, cassava bread, island coconut cakes and coconut cookies, bananas, banana ketchup and unlimited beverages including local beer, delicious rum punch, soda and water.
Island Tour/Gros Piton Hike Combination
You will be able to get a official guide from Fond Gens Libre Community to accompany you on the hike of the Gros Piton. The required guides are located at the base of the Pitons. They will lead you along the trail which winds around the mountain at a gradual gradient. Panoramic views! The first half of the trial can be enjoyed by everyone, while the second half is for the more advanced hiker (steep accent to the summit). The driver will stay at the base of the Piton while you climb and await your return. It is approximately one hour ride to the Pitons from Castries. The hike generally is 2 hours up and the same to return.
Island Tour/Tet Paul Nature Trail Combination
You will see the sites described in the Island Tour above plus a stop at Tet Paul Nature Center which is an easy hiking trail. The nature walk is nestled within the 6 acres of land adjacent to the Gros Piton. As you walk along the trail you will see a variety of exotic fruit trees and medicinal plants. The 45 minute Tet Paul Nature Walk Trail begins in the Chateau Belair community near Soufriere. Enjoy great views throughout the entire walk. Ascend to the summit for stunning breathtaking, panoramic views of the Pitons, the southern portion of the island, Martinique and St. Vincent.
This tour includes the island tour as described above and a stop at Anse Chastanet to snorkel. You must provide your own snorkeling gear or rent it at the resort.
Volcano Mud Bath Tour
Head south to Soufriere but first stop in Roseau Valley, the largest banana plantation on the island. See the West Coast fishing villages of Anse La Raye, Canaries and Soufriere. Stop for photo opportunities of the spectacular twin peaks of the Pitons before entering Soufriere. Visit the drive in Volcano - Sulphur Springs and enjoy a warm mud bath in a hot mineral pool at the bottom.
- * Bring a dark colored towel. Sulfur is dark in color and may stain swim wear.
- * Do not wear jewelry.
- * People who are allergic to sulfur and pregnant women should not bathe in the mud bath.

1. Diamond Waterfalls & Botanical Gardens-
Enjoy the six acres of beautiful tropical lush fertile vegetation and the diverse range of tropical flowers and plant life. See the breathtaking waterfall and hot mineral springs that fill the historical baths with age old medicinal waters and flora and fauna.

5. You might also consider adding on a stop to Fond Doux Estate - The Estate Trail gives you a chance to see cocoa trees and other crops (coffee, nutmeg, cinnamon), bananas and coconuts. See the cocoa fermentation, drying and coconut processing.
6. Morne Courbil Estate - .Visit a small village of replica stick huts which are similar to those used two centuries ago by local villagers. The gardens around have popular local flora. You will have demonstration of the process to make and bake cassava bread.
